I told you I may start a hedgehog farm. I just can’t seem to help myself from making more! Sadly, this guy has moved on to colder places – namely, my sister’s place in Michigan. I miss him already.

Fabric from chain stores often costs more than I’d like to spend, not to mention that the nearest fabric store is at least 15 minutes from my house, without traffic… and I don’t much like to drive very far. Just half a mile from my office, however, is a Salvation Army. Sometimes I’ll stop in at lunch, and one day I happened upon the sheet section – dozens and dozens of sheets! I’ve been adding to my collection every since – for $2.99 per sheet, that’s around $1-$1.50 per yard. Plus, there are some really funky patterns to be found!
Check out some of my most recent finds on the right. The top fabric is already destined to be a hedgehog, not sure about the rest yet (any ideas?)
Anybody else have an unusual craft supply source?
Two weeks ago, while I was in the midst of fighting off an icky cold, I came across this lovely (and free!) hedgehog pattern. I tried to resist… but I could not. The pull of the hedgehog was too strong. And so, while curled up on the couch with some old episodes of The Office, I made my very own hedgehog. Please meet Harriet:
When I bought my couch two years ago, it came with two pillows free! How exciting! Except that they were ugly pillows. So, finally, I made it my mission to make these pillows better.
